Research-based reviews
Our current reviews are desk-researched assessments. We examine official UK product specifications, manufacturer-linked manuals, exact programme energy data and primary housing or energy guidance. We label these reviews as research-based throughout. We have not bought or independently measured these machines for the current edition.
How we choose a shortlist
- Identify the household decision: temperature, laundry workload, noise needs, space and supervision.
- Confirm the exact model, generation and UK instructions; a similarly named appliance is not interchangeable.
- Compare extraction and power at the same temperature/RH and mode where that evidence exists.
- Read placement, drainage, maintenance, cooling and unattended-use restrictions.
- Publish a conditional choice, useful alternatives, sources and material missing data.
Figures we do not combine
- A minimum power setting with maximum extraction from a different mode.
- A headline capacity at 30°C/80% RH with a competitor’s ordinary-room output.
- A sound-power label with a sound-pressure listing as though they used the same protocol.
- A rated power scenario with measured whole-session energy as a performance verdict.
- An adaptor’s DC output with appliance mains consumption.
Calculations and current offers
Energy examples show the watts, duration and tariff used. They are not household test results or promised prices per dry load. Prices and availability change, so product buttons lead to current manufacturer or approved partner information rather than unsupported price badges.
