Contact enquiries
When you contact us, we receive the name, email address and message you submit. We use them to respond to your enquiry, assess corrections and keep a reasonable correspondence record. Our basis is our legitimate interest in operating the website and responding to people who contact it. Providing these details is voluntary; we need a reply address to respond.
The publication plugin emails the enquiry to the site’s contact mailbox; it does not create a separate message database. The mailbox and its service provider can retain the correspondence. We retain routine enquiry correspondence for 90 days after the enquiry closes, then delete it, unless an ongoing dispute or applicable obligation requires longer retention. Relevant copies can remain in provider backups until their normal expiry.
Hosting, security and service providers
GoDaddy provides website hosting. Public responses currently use Cloudflare security services, which may be supplied through the hosting or delivery chain. Contact messages pass through the configured website mail service to the operator’s contact mailbox.
Cloudflare helps deliver and protect the website and can process connection and security information needed to identify and mitigate malicious or automated traffic. Its processing can take place outside the UK under the safeguards described in Cloudflare’s privacy documentation.
The form uses a short-lived anti-abuse record derived from the submitting email and connection IP address. It expires after one minute and contains neither the message nor the raw address. The website and mail service may process connection details or security logs as described in the provider details above. We do not sell contact details.
Cookies, analytics and external content
This site is configured without additional visitor analytics, advertising cookies or external media embeds. The publication plugin adds none of those services. Cloudflare may set the strictly necessary __cf_bm cookie on public pages for bot management and website security. It expires after approximately 30 minutes of continuous inactivity, contains encrypted information used to calculate a bot score, is generated separately for this site and does not correspond to a user account on this website. WordPress may also use necessary cookies for administrator login. We will update this notice and the relevant controls before adding services that need them.
Product links
Articles can link to manufacturers or approved commercial partners. When you choose to visit a destination, its own privacy terms apply; an approved partner link may carry an attribution identifier. The link relationship is explained in the affiliate disclosure.
Your rights
You can ask about access, correction, erasure, restriction or an applicable right to portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where a separately described service relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent using its controls. Contact the operator through the form; we may need to verify your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
We do not use contact enquiries for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. This notice will be updated when the site’s services or practices change.
