Our answer
Choose the Arete Two 20L if you want a larger tank, published extraction/power pairs and a five-year manufacturer warranty. The OmniDry 20L offers a smaller body and app control, with a 36 dB noise claim. We cannot establish a real-world extraction or running-cost winner from the public data because Pro Breeze does not supply the same condition-matched table.
Exact products being compared
This comparison covers the MeacoDry Arete Two 20L and the UK Pro Breeze OmniDry 20L smart model listed as PB-D-24W-B-UK. The linked Pro Breeze manual uses PB-D-24-WF-UK. Pro Breeze sells several other 20L machines: do not substitute their specifications. Check the rating plate/manual supplied with the unit you buy.

The OmniDry electricity figure needs care
The product page gives “Energy Consumption 0.27 kW·h” without stating a duration or room conditions. The current linked manual rates power at 330 W. A rated power value and energy consumed over a period are different quantities. Neither is a verified 20°C/60% RH operating measurement, so we do not turn either into a precise efficiency comparison against Meaco’s 207 W.
For budgeting, a six-hour constant-power scenario at the manual’s 330 W is 1.98 kWh, about 52.1p at 26.32p/kWh. It is a rating-based scenario, not a measured session cost. The Arete’s six-hour 207 W scenario is 32.7p. These scenarios do not prove one dries the same load more cheaply.
Installation can matter more than body size
The OmniDry body is smaller, but the linked manual specifies at least 50 cm clearance around it. Its manual also says never to leave it unattended. Account for both requirements when planning a flat or bedroom setup. The Arete instructions describe a different wall-placement arrangement. A manufacturer’s body dimensions are not the complete operating footprint.
What the noise claims tell you
A 36 dB listing looks attractive beside 38 dB, but different measurement distance, fan setting and operating mode can change the comparison. We have no side-by-side sound measurements. Neither machine’s maximum airflow should be assumed to occur at its minimum noise figure. Read our noise guide before treating a small dB difference as decisive.
Our verdict by buyer
- Evidence and tank capacity: favour the Arete Two 20L; the published condition table gives more information for planning.
- Compact body and a lower current price: the OmniDry may be worth considering if the complete clearance and supervised-use routine fit.
- Overnight bedroom use: do not select the OmniDry on its noise claim; the inspected manual prohibits unattended use.
- Laundry performance winner: remains unproven without the same load, room, dryness endpoint and measured kWh.
The OmniDry page lists 12.5 kg while its linked manual lists 13 kg. We do not use either to claim a precise handling advantage. This difference and the energy-data gap are recorded rather than silently reconciled.
